Mazafarpur, Feb 15: The campus of BR Ambedkar Bihar University (BRABU) witnessed a historic convergence of spiritual devotion and national pride this Sunday. On the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri, a grand and inspiring statue of ‘Maa Bharti’ was unveiled and consecrated at the University’s Central Library. The idol, a gift from the provincial office of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), was installed following rigorous Vedic rituals and the chanting of sacred hymns. The ceremony, known as Pran-Pratishtha, transformed the library premises into a hub of spiritual consciousness and patriotic energy.
Speaking at the event, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dinesh Chandra Rai emphasized that the day would be etched in golden letters in the university’s annals. He remarked that a library is a sacred space where words are treated as 'Brahma' or divine knowledge, and the physical presence of Maa Bharti will now serve as a constant source of national inspiration for the students. He further noted that the timing of the installation underscores a resolve that the ultimate fruit of all academic research and education must be the advancement of the nation. According to the VC, the प्रतिमा (statue) is not merely a structure of stone or metal, but a reflection of a collective determination to serve the country.
Veteran journalist Awadhesh Ji, who attended as a guest of honor, praised the university administration’s initiative, describing it as a significant step toward enriching the spiritual and ideological fabric of the campus. The ceremony saw the participation of prominent figures including Smt. Vibha Rai, Prof. BS Rai, Prof. Sameer Kumar Sharma, Dr. Kaushal Kishore Chaudhary, and Dr. Navin Kumar, among others.
