
Imphal, Feb 17: Lt Gen Abhijit S Pendharkar, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Spear Corps, visited the headquarters of Ukhrul Warriors of the Assam Rifles in Manipur to review the prevailing security situation and operational preparedness in the region.
During the visit, the Corps Commander was briefed on the current ground situation, counter-insurgency measures, border management dynamics, and ongoing initiatives aimed at maintaining peace and stability. Senior officers apprised him of operational deployments, intelligence coordination, and civil-military engagement efforts being undertaken in sensitive areas.
Lt Gen Pendharkar commended all ranks for maintaining a high state of readiness amid challenging conditions. He appreciated their commitment to strengthening the security grid and ensuring a secure environment for local communities. The GOC also lauded the troops for their professionalism, morale, and disciplined conduct in the discharge of their duties.
Emphasising the importance of public outreach, he acknowledged the efforts of the Assam Rifles in building trust among the local population through community engagement programmes and humanitarian initiatives alongside operational responsibilities.
