
Dimapur, Feb 22: Lieutenant General Abhijit S. Pendharkar, General Officer Commanding of the Spear Corps, interacted with the National Integration Tour (NIT) delegation at Dimapur as they returned to Nagaland following a week-long tour across key Indian cities.
The delegation comprised 23 leaders from Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) representing diverse communities. During the tour, the participants visited Ahmedabad, Delhi, and Shillong, gaining firsthand exposure to India’s historical, cultural, and institutional heritage.
Highlights of the tour included visits to iconic national landmarks such as the Statue of Unity in Gujarat, Sabarmati Ashram, India Gate, and the National War Memorial in Delhi. The group also had the opportunity to meet the Hon’ble President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu, at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
The interaction at Dimapur provided an opportunity for the CSO leaders to share their experiences and reflections on the tour. Lieutenant General Pendharkar emphasised the importance of fostering unity, mutual understanding, and national integration through such initiatives.
