One kilometer road from Syed Abad to House Colony in Ompora Budgam has been lying in shambles for a few years after not being macadamized by the R&B following its repairing, locals said on Monday.
Road has been in dilapidated condition and compounds problems for the people residing in the surrounding areas.
“The length of the road is barely one kilometer and still the R&B division Budgam has been slacking to get it macadamized. Around three years have passed since basic development of the road, but the final blacktopping is yet to be done,” locals said.
They said that the road gives them a tough time during winter and rainy seasons as the surface gets covered with potholes, causing inconvenience to them.
“Despite intimating the concerned authorities about the issue earlier nothing was done so far to get us rid of the problem,” locals added.
While talking to the Exen R&B Budgam Javeed Ahmad regarding the issue, he said that the macadamization work could not be undertaken amid the ongoing implementation of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC).
He added that the road’s macadamization will be given a first priority next year as there will be a drop in temperature, not conducive for road works, following the end of election process in J&K.
Meanwhile, police and Disaster management team of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board has reached the spot.More details Awaited.
