
Srinagar, Aug 23: A day after meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Jammu and Kashmir Lt Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday met Home Minister Amit Shah in the national capital.
The Lt Governor Sinha called on Amit Shah in New Delhi in the evening.
“Sinha briefed the home minister after the prevailing security, economic and developmental situation in the Union Territory,” sources said.
They said Lt Governor also briefed Amit Shah about the security measures put in place in Valley after the twin terror attacks in south Kashmir in which a policeman and two migrant workers were killed.
The Lt Governor also briefed the Home Minister after the 100-day anti-drug drive that was launched in J&K on April 11.
He presented the Home Minister with a coffee-table book prepared by the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), J&K, showcasing the achievements and key initiatives undertaken during the 100-day NAsha Mukht J&K Abhiyan campaign.
Sources said Sinha also briefed the Home Minister about the damage and loss of lives caused by cloudbursts, flash flood and mudslides due to heavy rains in Jammu and Kashmir.
Earlier, yesterday, Sinha met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and briefed him on the overall situation and key developments in Jammu & Kashmir.
Sinha apprised the Prime Minister about the Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir (NMJK) campaign and its progress across the Union Territory.
He also presented the Prime Minister with a coffee-table book prepared by the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), J&K, showcasing the achievements and key initiatives undertaken during the 100-day NMJK campaign.
The Prime Minister was also apprised of the progress made through the campaign and the initiatives aimed at strengthening awareness, prevention and rehabilitation efforts across J&K.
