
“Please return for the sake of Allah and for the sake of your old father and your ailing mother,” the family and relatives of Shahid Sadiq resident of Khull village of Noorabad Kulgam on Thursday appealed him son to return home.
Shahid, according to the family left home on April 8, 2019, and after a few days his photograph with a gun started making rounds on Facebook.
“Shahid was well settled, owning a departmental store worth 20 lakhs and has done Diploma in Mechanical Engineering,” one of his family member told Kashmir News Bureau.
“Our mother is a heart patient, we request our brother to come back home and think of his family,” Shahid’s sister said.
According to the family members Shahid’s father is seriously ill. “He is continuously oozing blood from the nose after he came to know about his son joining into militant
ranks,” they said.
Since Majid Khan’s return, many families in Kashmir have asked their sons to come back through videos. On November 24, the family of Zahid Rashid Bhat, a 16-year-old from Kathpora village in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district, went on camera to plead for his return from militancy.
Another resident of Kulgam, Mohammad Iqbal, said a calamity had forced him to leave his dry cleaning job in Punjab and return home to Ringath village last month. His eldest boy, 17-year-old Aqib, had joined the Hizbul Mujahideen. (KNB)
