Let me start my literary piece with a beautiful quote of Albert Einstein, "The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing".

Our Lord Almighty Allah has created all the human beings from forefather (Adam and Eve). He send us on the earth without any difference, no one is superior or inferior. He made us equal, alike and uniform. But unfortunately, humans altered everything on the planet. We have divided our society into infinite sections on the basis of race, caste, creed, colour, religion and so on. We are not even ready to accept the reality of equality on the earth. We humans have created so many groups among our own brotherhood. This type of mental approach has given birth to dreadful menaces and evils.
Yes, before a long time, we used to see many social evils present in our society, shameful for whole humanity. These social evils were untouchability, Satti-System, child marriage, caste system, etc. Today, no doubt some of these evils are not seen and all credit goes to our legendary social reformers. But now-a-days, our society is involved in such type of social evils that are not only opposite to humanity but also unlawful. Caste system, which somehow still exists in our cultures. Female infanticide, some parents still think that giving birth to girl child is a burden. Women trafficking, prostitution, drug abuse etc. are some of the common evils of our times. If we started to pen down these evils, I think we may fall short of ink but not in counting them. Somehow, we all people thought that these social evils were present before independence. No doubt some of the dreadful evils had been eradicated but in return other innumerable evils had taken place. I believe no one is unaware about dowry. Yes, Dowry is a severe menace; it is the amount that a bride’s family has to pay at the time of marriage to the groom’s family. This amount can be in the form of cash or kind, by somehow bride’s family has to arrange this amount in-order to see his/her daughter getting married happily. One more evil that we now-a-days witness at an alarming rate is the consumption of contraband drugs. According to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, J&K has 60000 drug addicts. In last three years there has been an increase of 1500% in the consumption of illegal drugs. Mostly the youth of our society are involved in this act. From last few years, our government and force departments are taking serious measures to control these contraband products and we should be thankful to them for this good act.
Here I would like to quote a famous foreign scholar Russell Brand, "The mentality and behaviour of drug addicts and alcoholics is wholly irrational until you understand that they are completely powerless over their addiction". So it is the need of the hour to uproot drugs not the drug addicts. When these persons are falling prey to these contraband products, they don't know whether they are doing right or wrong. Our behaviour with them should be rational so that we can motivate them or counsel them for discontinuing its use and peddling. If we behave with them otherwise they will hate to spend time with us and will spend most of the time lonely, and in this loneliness, they will fall prey to these evils in order to forget their stress, depression and other hateful and sad memories.
Women trafficking are another heinous crime that is on peak. We all have heard this quotation, "if you want to destroy any nation without war, make adultery and nudity common in their young generation". Human/women trafficking is the trade of humans for the purpose of forced labour, sexual slavery or sexual exploitation for the trafficker or others. This type of inhuman acts can be seen on higher rates in our country. Are not these social evils? Don't you think our society still need social reformers that will eradicate these evils? If we call ourselves good humans then why far from humanity? Another menace which is commonly seen in our society is a child labour. We humans had become so selfish, whenever we need labours in our homes we deliberately choose children, who works under some of their head members. We thought, if we choose these child's for working, we will have to pay less amount than adult labours. Children are the gifts of God, we should not treat them inhumane. Please for God's sake, do justice and have mercy on these delicate and innocent souls. Life is not easy for everyone. If they need any financial support, do help them without taking manual benefit from them. They are poor section of our society who remain far away from the love and care of their parents, from the support of their siblings and from the affection, love of their friends.
As a writer, I strongly condemn all the social evils present in our society. We all should join hands if we really want to eradicate these dreadful evils. If we want our planet to be peaceful and prosperous, free of malice, then it is the need of the hour to clean hub of crimes and evils forever. Especially our youth should not indulge themselves in these horrible crimes. They must engage themselves in co-curricular activities because they are the future of our nation. It is a wise saying that for a healthy nation, we need healthy youth! The malice of social evils must be eliminated once for all!
