
DGP, FC (Home) for strengthening of security grid
Director General of Police, Dilbag Singh, and Financial Commissioner (Home), Raj Kumar Goyal, jointly chaired a high-level security meeting here on Thursday during which they reviewed the security scenario of the Kashmir Valley.
Addressing the meeting, DGP Singh directed officers to strengthen the security grid to counter militant violence.
He also stressed on the need for enhancing the communication within the rank and file of the
police and sister agencies to achieve the desired results, a police spokesperson said.
“The DGP stressed on taking strict action against OGWs and elements involved in anti-peace activities. He directed for a target oriented approach to areas of domination,” the spokesman added.
“No space should be given to any subversive and pro-militant elements,” Singh said, adding that there was a need to revisit listed areas and improve area domination.”
The DGP called on officers to enhance synergy at different levels to make existing counter militancy efforts more fruitful.
Financial Commissioner Goyal appreciating the coordinated efforts of J&K Police and CAPFs on the anti-militancy front, stressed on quick disposal of UAPA cases, updating documentation and fulfilling all technicalities of investigation in cases of a special nature.
Earlier, officers representing different districts and units briefed their seniors about the security measures in areas under their command.
The issue of soft killings and emergence of hybrid terror modules was discussed during Thursday’s meeting.

Range DIGs and all district SSPs, including PDs of Kashmir Zone and their counterparts in the CAPFs, besides JKAP/IRP commandants also attended the meeting via video conferencing.
