Heavy rush at petrol pumps in Baramulla

May 15, 2026 | Nisar Malik

Baramulla, May 14: -Baramulla witnessed heavy rush at petrol pumps today, with long queues of vehicles reported across the district. The sudden surge in demand created concern among residents, leading to fears of fuel shortage. Authorities, however, have assured that supplies remain adequate and urged the public not to panic.

Socio-political activist and Chairman of Global Youth Foundation, Touseef Raina, while speaking to Brighter Kashmir, appealed to citizens to maintain calm and cooperate with officials. He emphasized that unnecessary panic buying only worsens the situation and causes inconvenience to the wider public. “We must trust the system and avoid creating chaos. Cooperation is the key to ensuring smooth distribution,” Raina stated.
This development comes in the backdrop of the recent appeal made by the Prime Minister to the nation, urging people to remain patient and united during challenging times. Local administration has also stepped up monitoring at fuel stations to prevent hoarding and ensure fair distribution.
Residents are advised to purchase fuel as per genuine need and avoid crowding at pumps.
