Hazratbal Milad: Traffic plan announced in Srinagar

Srinagar, Aug 24: Traffic Police City Srinagar has issued a comprehensive traffic advisory for Eid-i-Milad-un-Nabi celebrations, outlining route diversions, return corridors and designated parking facilities for devotees visiting the Hazratbal Shrine.

The arrangements will remain in force for the intervening night of August 25-26 and Friday prayers on August 28, in view of the expected influx of devotees from Srinagar and different parts of the Valley.
Vehicles arriving from North Kashmir after reaching Shalteng will be diverted through Parimpora, Qamarwari, Cement Bridge, Noorbagh, Sekidafar, Eidgah, Alimasjid, Sazgaripora, Hawal, Alamgari Bazar, Mill Stop, Molvi Stop, Botshah Mohallah and Kanitar before entering the University parking area from the Saderbal side.
Traffic from South Kashmir via Panthachowk will proceed through Stone Quarry, Batwara, Sonwar Bazar, Ram Munshi Bagh, Gupkar, Grand Palace, Zethiyar Ghat, Nishat, Foreshore Road and Habbak Crossing before reaching the Naseembagh-side University parking area.
Vehicles from Budgam and adjoining areas will follow Hyderpora, Tengpora, Bemina Bypass, Bemina Crossing, Qamarwari, Cement Bridge, Noorbagh, Sekidafar, Eidgah, Alimasjid, Sazgaripora, Hawal, Alamgari Bazar, Mill Stop, Molvi Stop, Botshah Mohallah and Kanitar to reach the Saderbal-side parking facility.
Those travelling from Lal Chowk will be diverted through SRTC Crossing, Ikhwan Chowk, Khanyar Chowk, Bhori Kadal, Rajouri Kadal, Gojwari Chowk, Hawal, Alamgari Bazar, Mill Stop, Molvi Stop, Botshah Mohallah and Kanitar.
Devotees from Ganderbal will use the Nagbal-Zakoora-Habbak route to reach the Naseembagh parking area.
For the return journey, North Kashmir-bound vehicles will proceed via University Parking, Ashaibagh Crossing, Rainawari, Khanyar, Nowpora, Dalgate, M.A. Road, Budshah Bridge, Jehangir Chowk Flyover, Batmaloo, Mominabad, Tengpora, Bemina Bypass, Parimpora and Shalteng.
South Kashmir-bound traffic will use Naseembagh Parking, Habbak Crossing, Foreshore Road, Nishat, Zethiyar Ghat, Gupkar, Ram Munshi Bagh, Sonwar Bazar and Panthachowk.
Vehicles heading towards Budgam will follow NIT, Ashaibagh Crossing, Rainawari, Khanyar, Nowpora, Dalgate, Golf Crossing, Radio Kashmir, Abdullah Bridge, Hatrick, Convent Crossing, Rajbagh, Jawaharnagar Chowk, Jawaharnagar Bund, Rambagh, Barzullah Bridge, Sadder Crossing and Hyderpora.
Traffic bound for Ganderbal will use Naseembagh Parking, Habbak, Zakoora and Nagbal, while vehicles heading towards Lal Chowk will proceed via Multi-Level/NIT Parking, Ashaibagh Crossing, Rainawari, Khanyar, Nowpora Bridge, Khayam Chowk, Dalgate and M.A. Road.
Traffic Police has designated multiple parking locations to facilitate devotees and prevent congestion around the shrine.
Vehicles from North and Central Kashmir will be parked inside the University campus through Sir Syed Gate from the Saderbal side, while vehicles from South Kashmir, including Ganderbal, will use the Naseembagh University campus through Budshah Gate from the Habbak side.
Vehicles coming from Rainawari and Khanyar may use NIT Parking/Multi-Level Parking Hazratbal. A separate traffic camp has also been earmarked at Hazratbal for VIP and official vehicles.
The Traffic Police has urged motorists and devotees to follow the prescribed routes, cooperate with personnel on duty and use only designated parking spaces to ensure smooth traffic movement during the religious gatherings.
The advisory has been issued by the Senior Superintendent of Police, Traffic City Srinagar, as part of elaborate arrangements to manage the anticipated movement of thousands of devotees during Eid-i-Milad-un-Nabi celebrations.
