Green Drive by Assam Rifles in Nagaland

Kohima, Feb 13: On February 12, 2026, the Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Spear Corps, organised a “Green Village, Clean Village” campaign at Mutingkhong Village in Kiphire. The initiative aimed to promote environmental awareness and encourage sustainable practices among villagers.
During the campaign, Assam Rifles personnel collaborated with local residents to clean public spaces, remove waste, and plant trees, fostering a greener and cleaner environment. Awareness sessions were also conducted to educate villagers on waste segregation, recycling, and the long-term benefits of maintaining hygiene in the community.
The drive emphasized community participation, with villagers actively joining hands with security forces, highlighting the importance of joint efforts in preserving natural resources and enhancing quality of life. Officials said such initiatives are part of broader outreach programmes by Assam Rifles to strengthen civil-military relations while contributing to local development and environmental sustainability.
This campaign not only reinforced the message of ecological responsibility but also inspired the youth of Mutingkhong Village to adopt eco-friendly habits, creating a model for other villages in the region.
