
Srinagar, Aug 22: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has nominated Director Information J&K Shreya Singhal, IAS, as Festival Director for the first International Film Festival of Jammu and Kashmir (IFFJK) 2026.
According to a government order, Singhal, IAS, AGMUT:2020, who is serving as Director Information, J&K, will oversee the overall coordination and facilitation of the festival.
The IFFJK 2026 is scheduled to be held from September 7 to 10 across Jammu and Kashmir. The main venue will be the Sher-i-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar, while side events will be organised in Jammu and Gulmarg.
As Festival Director, Singhal will coordinate with the Divisional Commissioners of Kashmir and Jammu, designated nodal officers, concerned departments and agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure the smooth conduct of the festival.
The government order directs all concerned departments, agencies, divisional administrations and nodal officers to extend necessary cooperation and ensure timely action on matters related to the festival.
The Festival Director will also keep the Administrative Department informed about preparations, inter-departmental coordination and issues requiring intervention.
The order further authorises her to convene coordination meetings with concerned departments and agencies and issue operational directions required for effective implementation of festival-related arrangements.
