The Government on Thursday announced winter vacation for all government and recognised private educational institutions in the Kashmir division as well as in the winter zones of Jammu division in two phases.

According to an order issued by government’s School Education Department (SED), winter vacations for classes upto 5th primary shall be December 10 this year to February 28, 2025. Similarly from 6th standard to 12th standard, the vacations shall commence from December 16 to February 28, 2025, according to an order issued by the Principal Secretary to the government School Education Department.

Further, the teaching staff of Government High and Higher Secondary Schools shall remain available at respective Headquarters from 10th of February, 2025 onwards for preparatory arrangements for the ensuing Board Examinations of class 10th, 11th and 12th, the order, a copy of which lies with GNS, reads.

“All teachers shall remain available as required for any online guidance to students during vacation period,” it said.

The government also warned that any default on the part of Heads of Institutions or Teaching staff in observance of the schedule shall attract strict action under the Rules. (G
