GoC Spear Corps extends I-Day greetings

Guwahati, Aug 15: On the occasion of the 80th Independence Day, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of Spear Corps and all ranks of the formation extended warm greetings and best wishes to troops, their families and the people of Northeast India.

In a message marking Independence Day 2026, Spear Corps paid tribute to the freedom fighters whose sacrifices paved the way for an independent India and recalled the enduring values of courage, sacrifice, unity and service that continue to define the nation.
The formation reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the unity, integrity and sovereignty of the country, while emphasising the collective responsibility of citizens and security forces in building a peaceful and prosperous India.
The message also acknowledged the contribution and sacrifices of soldiers serving in the Northeast and conveyed best wishes to their families, who remain an integral part of the Armed Forces community.
The Spear Corps expressed hope that the spirit of freedom and patriotism associated with Independence Day would continue to inspire the nation towards greater peace, progress and prosperity.
It said the values of courage, dedication and selfless service must continue to guide the country as India moves forward with renewed confidence and determination.
