
Anantnag, Oct 5: The Food Safety Team, Anantnag, today conducted an inspection drive of food vendors across the district to check compliance with prescribed food safety standards and hygiene norms.
During the drive, the team specifically checked the use of synthetic food colours, use of printed newspapers for wrapping or serving food, repeated use of cooking oil, and overall sanitary and hygienic conditions at food establishments.
As part of the inspection, two food samples were procured and sent for detailed analysis at the laboratory. Further, six Food Business Operators (FBOs) were found violating various provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act and the Rules/Regulations.
Necessary action has been initiated against the erring FBOs under the relevant provisions of law.
