Doda hosts high-intensity U-19 Divisional Kabaddi

Doda, Sep 13: The Inter-District Divisional-Level Kabaddi Tournament for Boys Under-19 continued with high enthusiasm and intense competitive spirit at the Indoor Stadium, Doda, today as the three-day sporting event entered its second day.

The tournament is being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, Doda.
The tournament is being conducted in accordance with the approved Activity Calendar of the Directorate of Youth Services and Sports, J&K, under the directions of Smt. Anuradha Gupta, IAS, Director General, Youth Services & Sports, J&K, the guidance of Sh. Inderjeet Singh Parihar, Joint Director, Youth Services & Sports, Jammu, and the overall supervision of Sh. Ashok Kumar, District Youth Services & Sports Officer, Doda.
The second day witnessed a series of high-intensity league encounters across both pools, with teams competing with determination and displaying a high level of sporting ability.
In Pool-A, Kathua defeated Samba by 16 points, while Jammu registered a 6-point victory over Doda.
In Pool-B, Rajouri defeated Reasi by 6 points, while Poonch secured a commanding 38-point victory over Kishtwar.
The young Kabaddi players showcased commendable technical skills, tactical awareness, physical fitness, discipline, teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the day's proceedings.
The tournament is providing a significant platform for the identification and nurturing of promising young Kabaddi talent from across the districts of the Jammu Division.
The technical officials, referees and supporting staff performed their duties with professionalism and commitment, ensuring the fair, smooth and disciplined conduct of the matches in accordance with the prescribed rules and regulations of the game.
The tournament is being conducted successfully with the active support of the District Administration, Doda, and the coordinated efforts of departmental officers, officials, technical staff and field personnel.
The three-day tournament will conclude on September 14, 2026, with the participating teams competing for top honours and selection for further representation.
The concluding day is expected to witness further intense competition as the young Kabaddi players strive to make their mark at the divisional level.
