
Paribal , May 12: Lieutenant General Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, Director General of Assam Rifles, visited the Wular Battalion at Paribal in Jammu and Kashmir, where he reviewed operational preparedness and ongoing security-related initiatives.
During the visit, the Commandant of the Battalion briefed the Director General on the prevailing security environment in the area, along with the unit’s operational readiness and key responsibilities in maintaining stability in the region.
Lt Gen Lakhera also interacted with officers and troops of the Battalion, appreciating their professionalism, discipline, and sustained commitment towards safeguarding peace and security in the sensitive operational zone.
As part of the visit, he inspected the Battalion Drone Lab, where he was briefed on the use of modern surveillance technology to enhance situational awareness and operational effectiveness. He also visited the Malangam Company Operating Base (COB), where he reviewed ground-level deployment and functioning.
The Director General lauded all ranks for their high morale, adaptability, and dedication in challenging terrain and operational conditions, emphasizing the importance of continued vigilance and technological integration in counter-insurgency and security operations.
