Srinagar, May 12: Lieutenant General Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, Director General of Assam Rifles, held an interaction with Lieutenant General Balbir Singh, AVSM, YSM, VSM, General Officer Commanding (GOC) 15 Corps, at Srinagar on May 12, 2026.

The meeting focused on strengthening coordination between the Assam Rifles and the Indian Army, with a special emphasis on enhancing joint operational synergy in the region. Officials reviewed the prevailing security situation and discussed ways to further improve responsiveness and cooperation in ongoing operations.
Both senior officers underscored the importance of seamless inter-agency coordination in maintaining peace and stability, particularly in sensitive and strategically important areas.
