April 22, 2020 | BK News Service/Srinagar

Jammu & Kashmir Doctors Cordination Committee (JKDCC) which is an amalgam of various doctors bodies of Jammu Kashmir has expressed serious concern over unwarranted termination of a doctor at Sher I Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences Medical College(SKIMS MC) Bemina.
In a letter addressed to President Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK),Dr Suhail Naik by the terminated doctor,in which he has narrated his ordeal and has exposed the administrative failure of SKIMS MC Bemina to arrange safety gear for frontline health workers.
Dr Mohd Yousuf Tak Convenor JKDCC said that, "It is a black spot over the administrative affairs of the medical college during such pandemic which has crushed and collapsed the world.
Demanding PPE kit is crime, but a fundamental right of health workers and arranging it is responsibility of authorities.
Dr Yousuf Tak further said, that "at this hour of juncture doctors ,paramedics , sweepers and all who are fighting this invisible enemy should be appreciated and adequate protective gears should be arranged for them.
Words are falling short for condemning this irrational act which has demoralized all the doctors at this hour of despair". Today only one of our doctor had tested positive at Government Medical College Baramulah while working for extended hours with improper PPE, thereby risking his life and his family.
"We are fighting a deadly virus with limited resources and such orders will demoralise us at every front",added Dr Owais Dar General Secretary DAK added.
Dr Masood Rashid, Spokesperson Society of Consultant Doctors (SCD) and Dr Bilal Beigh Society of Dental Surgeons Jammu Kashmir(SDSJK) jointly assured the terminated Medico that "they will fight at every front to get him justice".
JKDCC appealed the Hon'ble Financial Commissioner Health, Atal Dallu to take cognisance of this issue and to revoke termination order without any delay and termination order to be deemed as void ab intio.
