
Deputy Commissioner(DC), Srinagar, Akshay Labroo Wednesday chaired a meeting of senior Revenue Officers here at Conference Hall of the DC Office to conduct Tehsil wise review of the functioning and performance of Revenue Department in the District.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mir Imtiyaz Ul Aziz, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Aadil Fareed, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Umar Gulzar, SDM East, Zubair Ahmad, SDM West Irfan Bahadur, all Tehsildars of the District and other concerned.
The meeting was aimed to review and strengthen the functioning of the District's Revenue Department, focusing on the expediting process of digitization of revenue records and the timely delivery of public services.
At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner took a detailed review of the Revenue related matters and services with special focus on progress of Digitization/Authentication of Jamabandis/Mussavies, Reconstruction of damaged Massavies, geo-referencing of maps. He also reviewed provision of online services, court cases, status of migrant offline/online grievances and pending land alienation cases in the District.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner directed the Officials of Revenue Department to perform their duties with due diligence, ensuring better services to the people in time bound manner as envisaged under Public Services Guarantee Act(PSGA). He set Tehsil wise deadlines for completing the process of Authentication of jamabandies.
The DC stressed on further improving and strengthening the functioning of the Revenue setup in the District. He said that the working approach of the Revenue Officials must lead in making a positive contribution to the society. He called for enhanced transparency, accountability, and efficiency in the delivery of public services under the Public Services Guarantee Act (PSGA).
The DC also asked the Revenue Officers to actively monitor the process of Revenue related activities in respective jurisdictions and activate their field staff to keep proper check and vigil on any kind of encroachments on State land and Kachari land across the District.
The DC said that all required measures will be taken by the District Administration to further augment/strengthen revenue infrastructure, enhance public service delivery system, and ensuring the protection of Government land through coordinated efforts.
