Srinagar, Aug 24: Ahead of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) and the Friday prayers following it, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Akshay Labroo on Monday conducted an on-site review of arrangements at the Hazratbal Shrine to ensure a safe and hassle-free experience for devotees.

The DC reviewed preparations for drinking water, uninterrupted power supply, sanitation, traffic management, parking, transport, healthcare, fire safety and security, with a large congregation expected at the shrine.
During a department-wise review meeting, Labroo directed all concerned agencies to complete arrangements well in advance and maintain close coordination throughout the observance. He called for a comprehensive traffic management plan to ensure smooth movement of devotees and emergency vehicles, besides adequate parking and effective regulation of vehicular traffic around Hazratbal.
To facilitate senior citizens and specially-abled devotees, the Transport Department was directed to provide e-rickshaw services between designated parking areas and the shrine.
The DC also directed the Health Department to deploy medical teams, ensure availability of essential medicines and first-aid facilities, and keep critical-care ambulance services ready to respond to emergencies.
The Srinagar Municipal Corporation was asked to ensure intensive sanitation and cleanliness in the shrine premises, adjoining roads and congregation areas, besides deploying adequate manpower, machinery and mobile toilet units before, during and after the observance.
Labroo further reviewed fire-safety and security arrangements and directed the concerned agencies to remain vigilant and fully prepared for any eventuality.
Accompanied by Vice Chairman LCMA Khurshid Ahmad Shah, the DC also inspected the parking site near the shrine and reviewed ongoing works aimed at augmenting parking capacity for devotees.
He stressed that all arrangements must remain devotee-centric, with particular attention to safety, accessibility and convenience, and directed officers to remain available and responsive throughout the celebrations.
The DC expressed confidence that coordinated efforts by the civil administration, police, traffic, health, SMC and other departments would ensure peaceful and smooth observance of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi at Hazratbal.
