Kulgam, May 11: As part of the ongoing activities under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Shahzad Alam today inaugurated a basketball tournament at Manzgam aimed at promoting sports and spreading awareness against drug abuse among youth.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC highlighted the importance of sports and positive extracurricular activities in steering youth away from substance abuse and encouraging a healthy lifestyle. He said that such initiatives provide a constructive platform for young people to channel their energy and talent in a positive direction.
He also encouraged active participation of youth in sports and social initiatives to build a healthy and drug-free society.
It was informed that 16 teams are participating in the tournament, reflecting the enthusiastic involvement of local youth in the anti-drug awareness initiative through sports.
SDM Noorabad, Bashir Ul Hassan, Tehsildar D.H. Pora and other officers were present on the occasion.
