Ganderbal, Sep 28: Central University of Kashmir (CUKashmir) has achieved a milestone in strengthening its doctoral research ecosystem with the allocation of 99 seats under the AICTE Doctoral Fellowship (ADF) Scheme for the academic year 2025–26.

The allocation by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) marks an important development for CUKashmir's research and academic landscape, opening up wider avenues for scholars to engage in sustained, focused and meaningful research.
Vice-Chancellor, Prof. A. Ravinder Nath, described the allocation as an encouraging development for the University's research community, saying it would create enhanced opportunities for doctoral scholars to pursue their academic aspirations with greater support. “The allocation of 99 AICTE Doctoral Fellowship seats is an encouraging opportunity for our doctoral scholars. We remain committed to nurture an academic environment where research, innovation and interdisciplinary scholarship can flourish and contribute meaningfully to society,” the Vice-Chancellor said.
Dean Academic Affairs, Prof. Shahid Rasool, said the ADF allocation would give an impetus to doctoral research at the University and encourage scholars to pursue focused research in areas covered under the scheme. “The AICTE Doctoral Fellowship provides a valuable avenue for eligible PhD scholars to pursue their research with enhanced academic support. The allocation of seats is a welcome development for the university,” Prof. Rasool said. The DAA expressed gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. A Ravinder Nath for his guidance and support for seeking the award and congratulated the team at CUKashmir for the follow up.
Registrar, Dr. Nisar Ahmad Mir, emphasised the University's commitment to ensuring a smooth and timely process for eligible scholars seeking to avail the fellowship. “The University will extend all necessary support to facilitate the process and will ensure that the identification, verification and registration of eligible candidates are undertaken diligently and within the prescribed timelines so that deserving scholars can benefit from the scheme,” the Registrar said.
The University has asked concerned faculty members to identify eligible students and forward their details to the designated AICTE Nodal Officer through the Research and Development Section for verification and registration on the ADF portal.
