
Dimapur, Feb 19: As part of its ongoing National Integration Tour, the Assam Rifles organised an interaction between civil society organisation (CSO) representatives and Maj Gen Jai Singh Bainsla, SM, ADG Assam Rifles at the Headquarters Directorate General in Shillong on 19 February 2026.
The delegation, comprising CSO members from Chandel and Tengnoupal districts of Manipur, is undertaking the National Integration Tour under the Assam Rifles Civic Action Programme. The initiative aims to expose community leaders to diverse cultural, administrative, and developmental models across the country while strengthening bonds between remote border regions and the national mainstream.
During the visit to HQ DG Assam Rifles, the delegation engaged in an interactive session with Maj Gen Jai Singh Bainsla. Discussions centred on national integration, developmental initiatives in border areas, youth empowerment, infrastructure growth, and the role of civil society in fostering peace and harmony. The ADG highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts between security forces and community stakeholders in ensuring sustainable development and inclusive progress.
The tour itinerary includes visits to Pallel, Delhi, Gujarat, Guwahati, and Shillong, offering participants first-hand exposure to governance institutions, cultural landmarks, and successful development projects. Such engagements are designed to broaden perspectives, encourage dialogue, and promote mutual understanding.
