Gulmarg, Feb 23: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah suggested introducing artificial snow at Gulmarg to bolster tourism and enhance the winter sports ecosystem. Speaking on the sidelines of the KIWG inauguration, he noted shifting weather patterns and the need for modern infrastructure to maintain Gulmarg as India’s premier winter sports destination.

Abdullah highlighted the importance of gender equality in winter sports, encouraging improved facilities and coaching for women athletes. He expressed hope that local athletes could achieve global medal-winning standards with better preparation and infrastructure.
