May 25, 2026 | BK News Service

Budgam, May 24: The District Bar Association Budgam expresses its profound grief, deep anguish, and strongest condemnation over the tragic and horrifying death of a 12-year-old girl in Budgam, who had reportedly gone missing while proceeding towards the Darsgah. The shocking nature of this incident has shaken the conscience of the entire society and plunged the people of Budgam and the whole Valley into mourning, fear, and outrage.

The brutal loss of an innocent child under such painful and disturbing circumstances is not merely a tragedy for one family alone, but a matter of grave concern for the entire community. It is deeply alarming that children, even while engaged in educational and religious pursuits, are no longer feeling safe and secure. Such incidents strike at the very foundation of a civilized society and raise serious questions about the safety, moral responsibility, and collective conscience of our social environment.
The Association observes with serious concern that crimes of such barbaric and inhuman nature create an atmosphere of panic, insecurity, and psychological distress among the public, particularly among parents who now fear for the safety and wellbeing of their children. The growing vulnerability of minors demands immediate, effective, and uncompromising action from all institutions responsible for maintaining law and order and protecting human life and dignity.
In this regard, the District Bar Association Budgam strongly urges the police administration, investigating agencies, and civil authorities to treat the matter with utmost urgency and seriousness and to ensure the immediate identification and arrest of all culprits involved in this heinous crime. The Association appeals to the authorities to conduct a fair, transparent, impartial, and speedy investigation so that every fact surrounding the incident is uncovered and the perpetrators are brought before the law without any delay.
The Association further emphasizes that any laxity, negligence, or delay in the investigation would only deepen public anguish and erode the confidence of the people in the justice delivery system. The barbarity of the act demands exemplary punishment strictly in accordance with law so that justice is delivered to the bereaved family and a strong deterrent message is sent against crimes targeting innocent children.
The District Bar Association Budgam also appeals to civil society, religious institutions, social organizations, and the general public to stand united against such crimes and work collectively towards creating a safe, morally responsible, and compassionate society where every child can live without fear.
The Association extends its heartfelt condolences, solidarity, and prayers to the bereaved family in this hour of immense pain and sorrow. It prays to Almighty Allah to grant eternal peace to the departed soul, elevate her status in Jannat-ul-Firdous, and bestow courage, patience, and strength upon the grieving family to bear this irreparable loss.
