Baramulla, July 15: In a remarkable feat of endurance, 22-year-old athlete Ibadat wali of Baramulla became the first athlete from North Kashmir to complete a 119-kilometre solo run from Lal Chowk, Anantnag to the Deputy Commissioner Office, Baramulla, covering the distance in an impressive 10 hours and 55 minutes.

The run was undertaken to spread the message of the Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan, encouraging people, particularly the youth, to stay away from drug abuse and embrace a healthy, disciplined, and active lifestyle.
On his arrival at the DC Office premises, Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Baramulla, Pranjal J. Hazarika, received the athlete and congratulated him on his outstanding achievement. He lauded Ibadat's determination and appreciated his efforts in promoting the cause of a drug-free society through sports.
The ADDC said such inspiring initiatives motivate young people to pursue fitness, resilience, and positive values while strengthening the message of the Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan. He urged the youth to actively participate in sports and join the collective effort towards building a healthier and drug-free Jammu & Kashmir.
Later, Former President, Municipal Council Baramulla, Tauseef Raina, along with the athlete's coach, friends, and family members, felicitated Ibadat in recognition of his remarkable achievement and appreciated his dedication to promoting the message of the Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan through sports.
