September 05, 2025 | BK News Service

Peren, Sep 4: In a significant move to empower local youth and promote employment opportunities, Assam Rifles conducted a comprehensive training program for SSC GD (Staff Selection Commission – General Duty) aspirants in Peren District, Nagaland. The initiative saw enthusiastic participation from aspiring candidates, many of whom aim to join the armed forces and serve the nation.

As part of the program, Assam Rifles distributed admit cards to eligible candidates and provided targeted guidance on physical fitness routines, exam preparation strategies, and career planning. The training covered key areas of the SSC GD recruitment process, including physical efficiency tests (PET), written examination preparation, and interview readiness.
Participants received hands-on mentorship from experienced personnel of the Assam Rifles, who shared valuable insights on discipline, endurance, and the importance of service to the nation. Trainers also addressed questions about future opportunities in the paramilitary and defence sectors.
The local youth expressed heartfelt gratitude for the initiative, highlighting how the program not only boosted their confidence but also gave them a clear roadmap for pursuing a career in the armed forces.
One of the participants, a young aspirant from Peren, shared, “This kind of support is rare. The Assam Rifles have not only given us training but also the motivation to dream bigger. We feel seen, supported, and encouraged.”
This initiative is part of Assam Rifles' ongoing civic action programs aimed at youth empowerment, skill development, and community engagement in the Northeastern states. By bridging the gap between rural talent and national opportunities, the force continues to play a pivotal role in socio-economic development and nation-building.
A senior Assam Rifles officer emphasized, “We believe the youth are the future of this region. Through such programs, we aim to equip them with the tools and confidence to build successful careers and contribute meaningfully to society.”
This training effort underscores Assam Rifles’ dual role as both a security force and a social partner, committed to nurturing the potential of young citizens and building a brighter, more empowered Northeast India.
