Chandel, Manipur: Assam Rifles under Spear Corps has launched a dedicated pre-recruitment training initiative to prepare local youth for careers in the Armed Forces, reinforcing its commitment towards skill development, empowerment and nation-building.
As part of the initiative, a Registration-cum-Selection Drive was conducted at Modi in Chandel district, where aspiring candidates participated with the aim of joining the military services. A total of 175 youth registered for the programme, reflecting the growing enthusiasm among young people to pursue opportunities in the defence sector.
Following a rigorous selection process involving physical and medical screening, 50 candidates were shortlisted for a two-month pre-recruitment training programme. The selected aspirants will undergo structured training under expert instructors to enhance their physical fitness, mental resilience, discipline and academic preparedness required for Armed Forces recruitment.
The training programme is designed to bridge the gap between aspiration and opportunity by providing candidates with professional guidance, regular fitness sessions, exam preparation support and an understanding of military requirements.
Assam Rifles officials highlighted that such initiatives are aimed at creating a strong pool of capable and confident youth who can compete successfully in defence recruitment processes. The force has been actively conducting similar outreach programmes in remote and border areas to encourage youth participation in national service.
The initiative also reflects Assam Rifles’ broader role beyond security operations, focusing on community engagement, youth development and creating avenues for employment in the region.
Through sustained efforts in training and mentorship, Assam Rifles continues to encourage the youth of Manipur to pursue their aspirations of serving the nation while contributing towards peace, progress and empowerment in the region.
