Chieswema, June 20: Assam Rifles is extending support to an NCC training camp focused on Services Selection Board (SSB) coaching, being conducted by 1 Nagaland Battalion NCC at Chieswema Garrison, Nagaland, from June 16 to 23, 2026.
A contingent comprising one officer, one Junior Commissioned Officer, two Other Ranks, and 52 NCC cadets (26 boys and 26 girls) has reported at the garrison to participate in the specialised training programme aimed at preparing them for careers in the Armed Forces.
The camp is designed to provide structured guidance for the SSB selection process, focusing on personality development, leadership traits, and overall officer-like qualities required in the defence services.
Training activities include interactive lectures, practical exercises, group discussions, and skill-building sessions intended to enhance confidence, communication abilities and decision-making skills among cadets.
Officials said the initiative reflects Assam Rifles’ continued commitment to mentoring youth and encouraging them to pursue careers in the armed forces through disciplined training and exposure to real-world selection standards.
The programme also aims to strengthen coordination between NCC and defence establishments while fostering leadership and national service values among young cadets from the region.
