Shillong, Oct 29: Assam Rifles organised an awareness lecture on “Probity for Prosperity” (सत्यनिष्ठा से समृद्धि) at Headquarters DGAR, Shillong, on October 28 as part of Vigilance Awareness Week 2026.

The lecture was attended by all ranks of the garrison and focused on the importance of integrity, transparency, accountability and ethical conduct in official functioning.
The session highlighted the role of individual responsibility and institutional vigilance in preventing misconduct and promoting good governance. It also stressed that probity in public service is essential for building trust, ensuring fairness and strengthening organisational efficiency.
The initiative aimed to sensitise personnel to the importance of adhering to ethical standards in their professional duties and decision-making. It reinforced the message that vigilance is not merely a formal exercise but a continuous commitment to honesty, discipline and accountability.
Through such awareness programmes, Assam Rifles seeks to foster an environment where ethical conduct and transparency remain central to institutional functioning.
