
Shillong, April 23, 2026: Assam Rifles signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Axis Bank at Headquarters Director General Assam Rifles (HQ DGAR), Laitkor, Shillong, aimed at enhancing financial welfare and healthcare support for its serving and retired personnel.
The MoU was formalised in the presence of Maj Gen Jai Singh Bainsla, SM, Additional Director General Assam Rifles, on behalf of Lieutenant General Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, Director General Assam Rifles. The event also witnessed the participation of Ms. Satpreet Chelawat, Executive Vice President and Business Head – Corporate Salary Business, Axis Bank.
The agreement was signed by Brigadier Sandip Chatterjee, SM, Brigadier Personnel, on behalf of Assam Rifles, and Ms. Satpreet Chelawat representing Axis Bank.
Under this initiative, a customised Corporate Salary Package has been introduced exclusively for Assam Rifles personnel, both serving and retired. The package includes a specially designed health insurance scheme along with personal accident cover, permanent total disability cover, and several other tailored financial benefits.
Officials stated that the MoU is aimed at strengthening the financial security and healthcare support system for personnel and veterans of Assam Rifles, ensuring long-term welfare coverage and improved quality of life.
The initiative reflects Assam Rifles’ continued commitment to the well-being of its force members, reinforcing its focus on comprehensive welfare measures alongside its operational responsibilities in the North Eastern region
