Assam Rifles rescues accident victims in Kamjong

Imphal, May 17: Displaying prompt response and humanitarian commitment, Assam Rifles troops stationed at Shangshak rescued two seriously injured civilians following a vehicle accident near Gamnoum Village in Manipur’s Kamjong district on May 16, 2026.

According to officials, the accident occurred in a remote area near Gamnoum Village, following which Assam Rifles personnel immediately rushed to the site upon receiving information about the incident. The troops, accompanied by medical officials, launched a swift rescue operation to provide urgent assistance to the injured civilians.
The victims, who had sustained serious injuries in the accident, were administered immediate first aid and emergency medical care at the spot. Assam Rifles personnel also facilitated their evacuation to a nearby medical facility for further treatment, ensuring timely medical attention during the critical period after the accident.
Officials said the quick response by the troops played a crucial role in stabilising the injured individuals and preventing further complications.
