Rewari , April 30 : As part of its ongoing Outreach Drive, Assam Rifles visited two distinguished members of its fraternity in Rewari district, Haryana, reinforcing its continued commitment towards the welfare of Veer Naris, martyrs’ families, and retired personnel.
During the visit, the outreach team first met Smt Sushil, wife of Late Rfn (GD) Vijender Singh of 34 Assam Rifles, who made the supreme sacrifice in an IED blast at Thoubal on July 10, 2005, while on road opening party (ROP) duty. The team conveyed heartfelt respects on behalf of the force and expressed solidarity with the family. Officials also reaffirmed Assam Rifles’ continued support towards her welfare and well-being.
The team later visited WO (RM) Ramanand (Retd), aged 65, of 38 Assam Rifles, who has been bedridden for the past four years following a stroke that resulted in left-side paralysis. The officials interacted with him and his family, enquired about his health condition, and assured all possible assistance and support from the organisation.
During both interactions, the outreach team highlighted Assam Rifles’ long-standing tradition of remaining connected with its personnel and their families even after service or in times of loss and hardship. The visits were aimed at strengthening emotional support systems and ensuring that no member of the Assam Rifles fraternity feels neglected.
Both families expressed deep gratitude to the Director General Assam Rifles and the outreach team for their continued care, concern, and timely assistance. They acknowledged the organisation’s sustained efforts in standing by its personnel and their dependents in difficult times.
Assam Rifles reiterated that such outreach initiatives will continue as part of its welfare-oriented approach, ensuring sustained engagement with ex-servicemen, Veer Naris, and families of martyrs across the country.
