November 07, 2026 | BK CORRESPONDENT

Imphal, Nov 6: Assam Rifles conducted youth outreach programmes in Thoubal and Kangpokpi districts of Manipur on November 5, focusing on career guidance, skill development, community welfare and promotion of communal harmony.
The initiatives brought together 45 pre-recruitment trainees from 17 villages in Thoubal district and 27 youths at Waroiching village in Kangpokpi district, providing a platform for interaction, guidance and awareness about future opportunities.
During the programmes, Assam Rifles personnel engaged with young participants on various career options, particularly opportunities in the armed forces and other services. The pre-recruitment trainees were encouraged to maintain physical fitness, discipline, dedication and perseverance while preparing for competitive selection processes.
The interactions also highlighted the role of skill development in enhancing employment prospects and enabling young people to become self-reliant. Participants were sensitised to various Sadbhavna initiatives aimed at improving community infrastructure, education and overall quality of life in remote and underserved areas.
Special emphasis was laid on communal harmony, mutual understanding and peaceful coexistence. The youth were encouraged to rise above social divisions, strengthen bonds among communities and contribute positively towards peace and stability in the region.
The outreach programmes also provided an opportunity for young people to share their aspirations, concerns and expectations, while enabling Assam Rifles to strengthen its engagement with local communities.
By connecting with youth across villages, the force sought to encourage constructive participation, promote confidence and channelise their energy towards education, employment and nation-building.
The initiatives reaffirmed Assam Rifles' commitment to youth empowerment and community development in Manipur, underscoring the importance of sustained engagement in fostering trust, harmony and lasting peace.
