Imphal, Oct 7: Assam Rifles under Spear Corps conducted extensive medical outreach programmes across Manipur, providing essential healthcare services to more than 1,000 people in remote and border communities.
As part of the initiative, a Medical and Dental Camp was organised in Kangpokpi district in association with IMA Maharashtra. Specialist doctors attended the camp and provided multidisciplinary consultations to residents, offering medical advice and treatment for a range of health concerns.
Another Medical and Dental Camp was conducted in Ukhrul district, where local residents received free medical consultations, dental assessments, health guidance and medicines.
The outreach programmes were aimed at improving access to basic and specialised healthcare for communities living in remote areas, where medical facilities and specialist services can often be difficult to access.
The camps also provided residents an opportunity to seek preventive health advice and receive guidance on maintaining better health and oral hygiene.
The initiative forms part of Assam Rifles’ continued community outreach efforts under Spear Corps, particularly in remote and border areas of the North East. By taking healthcare services closer to underserved communities, the force seeks to contribute to public welfare while strengthening its engagement with local residents.
The large-scale participation reflected the community’s response to such initiatives and highlighted the importance of accessible healthcare in remote areas.
The medical outreach reaffirmed Assam Rifles’ commitment to supporting community well-being and contributing to nation-building through sustained engagement and welfare initiatives.
