Assam Rifles pays tribute to braveheart in Kishtwar

Kishtwar , April 19: Assam Rifles solemnly conducted a wreath-laying ceremony at Kishtwar to honour Rifleman Nar Bahadur Thapa of 7 Assam Rifles, who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty on April 18, 2002, while the unit was deployed in Thoubal, Manipur.

The ceremony was held with deep reverence and military honour, as officers and personnel gathered to pay homage to the fallen soldier. Floral tributes were laid at the memorial, followed by a moment of silence in remembrance of his sacrifice.
Rifleman Nar Bahadur Thapa is remembered for his courage, dedication, and unwavering commitment to duty during operational deployment in the North East. His sacrifice continues to be a source of inspiration for serving personnel of Assam Rifles.
Speaking on the occasion, officials reaffirmed that the force remains committed to honouring its martyrs and preserving their legacy through such commemorative events. They noted that every Braveheart of Assam Rifles represents the highest traditions of service and sacrifice.
The ceremony concluded with a reaffirmation of resolve by the troops to uphold the values for which Rifleman Thapa laid down his life, reflecting the enduring spirit of duty and remembrance within the force.
