Imphal, Manipur, Feb 14: Major General Gaurav Sharma, Assam Rifles (South), recently met with state officials to deliberate on strategies for maintaining peace and security in Manipur, highlighting the importance of coordinated efforts between the Assam Rifles and the state administration.

During the discussion, both sides reviewed the current security scenario in the state, including border management, counter-insurgency operations, and measures to prevent any disturbance to public order. Emphasis was placed on enhancing operational coordination, intelligence sharing, and rapid response mechanisms to address emerging threats effectively.
Major General Sharma stressed that Assam Rifles, as a key paramilitary force operating in the Northeast, continues to support civil authorities while respecting local sensitivities, and called for strengthened collaboration with police, local administration, and community stakeholders to ensure sustainable peace.
