Assam Rifles lead rescue operations in Ukhrul

Ukhrul, Feb 15: The Assam Rifles, operating under the aegis of Spear Corps, carried out swift rescue and humanitarian operations amid unrest in Ukhrul, reaffirming their role as the “Sentinels of the Northeast.”

Responding promptly to the developing situation, Assam Rifles personnel ensured the safe relocation of 52 students and staff members who were in vulnerable locations. Demonstrating operational readiness and sensitivity to civilian safety, the troops coordinated secure movement to safer areas, preventing any harm and restoring a sense of reassurance among families and the local community.
In addition to the evacuation efforts, the force undertook urgent medical assistance operations. A post-operative patient requiring immediate medical attention was safely evacuated to a better-equipped healthcare facility. Accident victims were also provided life-saving medical evacuation and timely care, underscoring the force’s humanitarian commitment beyond its primary security mandate.
Officials highlighted that such operations reflect the dual responsibility of maintaining peace and extending humanitarian support during crises.
