
Sangau, Mizoram, Feb 4: The Assam Rifles, under the Seva Maha Kumbh – Northeast Chapter, organized a comprehensive Medical Camp and Cancer Awareness Programme at Rawlbuk village, Sangau, Mizoram, on February 4, 2026. The initiative was conducted in collaboration with Seva Bharati, Purbanchal, and the National Medicos Organisation (NMO), aiming to provide accessible healthcare and raise awareness about cancer prevention among rural communities.
Over 80 villagers benefited from the camp, which included general health check-ups, screening for common ailments, and guidance on maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Medical experts also conducted interactive sessions on early cancer detection, preventive measures, and the importance of timely treatment, emphasizing community health education.
Assam Rifles personnel supported the camp by providing medical equipment, nursing assistance, and logistical arrangements, ensuring smooth execution of the programme. The initiative highlighted the strong civil–military cooperation in Mizoram, showcasing the Indian Army’s commitment to community welfare and public service beyond security duties.
