Imphal, July 23: The Assam Rifles paid solemn tributes to Rifleman (Late) Nasiruddin Khan during a wreath-laying ceremony held at Maram, Manipur, on July 22 to honour the soldier's supreme sacrifice in the service of the nation.

Senior Army and Assam Rifles officers, personnel and fellow soldiers participated in the ceremony, paying homage to the brave rifleman with full military honours.
Rifleman Nasiruddin Khan laid down his life while fighting anti-national elements at Jaluki, Nagaland, on July 22, 1992. He was remembered for displaying exceptional courage, unwavering devotion to duty and the highest traditions of military service during the operation.
Floral wreaths were laid at the memorial as a mark of respect, while officers and personnel observed a moment of silence in honour of the fallen soldier.
During the ceremony, speakers highlighted the courage, patriotism and selfless commitment of Rifleman Nasiruddin Khan, stating that his sacrifice continues to inspire generations of soldiers serving the nation under challenging circumstances.
The Assam Rifles reaffirmed its commitment to preserving the legacy of its bravehearts and ensuring that their courage and sacrifice remain an enduring source of inspiration for future generations.
