
Imphal, May 17: As part of its continued efforts to strengthen civil-military relations and promote peace in the region, the Assam Rifles organised an Interaction and Security Meeting with Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and Village Authorities at COB Kotlen in Manipur on May 15, 2026.
The meeting witnessed active participation from representatives of various civil society organisations and village authorities from nearby areas, who engaged in constructive discussions with Assam Rifles officials on issues related to regional security, public welfare, and developmental concerns.
Officials said the interaction was aimed at fostering better coordination between security forces and local communities while creating a common platform for dialogue and cooperation. The discussions focused on maintaining peace and harmony in the area, addressing local concerns, and strengthening mutual trust between the armed forces and the civilian population.
During the meeting, participants shared their views and highlighted issues affecting local communities, including security-related challenges and developmental requirements. Assam Rifles officials assured the attendees of continued support and emphasised the importance of community participation in maintaining stability and normalcy in the region.
The interaction also highlighted the role of civil society and village leadership in promoting awareness, preventing misinformation, and encouraging peaceful cooperation among residents.
