May 24, 2026 | BK News Service

Tuensang, May 23: Assam Rifles under Spear Corps organised a Medical and Dental Camp at Tuensang, providing essential healthcare services to local residents and strengthening outreach in remote areas of Nagaland.

The camp benefitted over 110 villagers who received free medical consultations, dental check-ups, basic treatment, and medicines. Medical personnel also conducted routine health screenings to identify common ailments and provide timely intervention.
Along with treatment, the team focused on preventive healthcare awareness, educating residents about hygiene, oral health, nutrition, and early detection of diseases. Locals were also guided on maintaining basic health practices to reduce common infections and lifestyle-related issues.
Officials said such initiatives are part of ongoing civic action programmes aimed at improving healthcare access in far-flung and underserved regions. The effort reflects Assam Rifles’ continued commitment to community welfare alongside its operational responsibilities in the region.
Residents appreciated the initiative, noting that such medical camps play a vital role in addressing healthcare gaps in remote tribal areas where access to hospitals and specialists remains limited.
