Changlang, Nov 6: Assam Rifles organised a women’s healthcare camp at Innao village in Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh, extending free medical services and health awareness support to residents of the remote area.
The camp benefited 245 villagers, including 135 men, 80 women and 30 children. Participants received free medical consultations, health check-ups and essential medicines, providing much-needed healthcare assistance to the local population.
With a special focus on women’s health and hygiene, the initiative addressed key issues such as menstrual hygiene, nutrition and maternal healthcare. Medical personnel also interacted with women and villagers, highlighting the importance of preventive healthcare, personal hygiene, balanced nutrition and timely medical attention.
As part of the outreach, sanitary pads, nutritional supplements and child-care supplies were distributed among beneficiaries to support women's well-being and the health needs of young children.
The initiative was particularly significant for residents of remote areas, where access to regular medical facilities and specialised healthcare services can be challenging. By bringing basic medical assistance directly to the village, Assam Rifles sought to address immediate health concerns while promoting awareness about long-term health and hygiene practices.
The camp also provided an opportunity for direct interaction between security personnel and local residents, strengthening community relations and reinforcing the force's commitment to humanitarian assistance.
Through such civic outreach programmes, Assam Rifles continues to supplement efforts towards improving healthcare access in remote and underserved areas of the Northeast.
The initiative reaffirmed the force's commitment to community welfare, with particular emphasis on women's healthcare, child well-being and building trust among local communities.
