Chandel, Oct 20: The Assam Rifles organised the Fit India Freedom Run 7.0 at Chakpikarong in Manipur’s Chandel district, with 30 local schoolchildren participating in a five-kilometre run to promote physical fitness, healthy living and youth empowerment.

The event aimed to encourage young people to adopt an active lifestyle and recognise the importance of regular physical exercise in maintaining overall health and well-being.
The participating students enthusiastically completed the run, reflecting the spirit of discipline, determination and sportsmanship. The initiative also provided a platform for young participants to engage in a collective sporting activity and develop a greater appreciation for fitness.
The programme highlighted the importance of involving schoolchildren in physical activities from an early age to promote healthy habits and encourage their participation in sports and community initiatives.
Through the event, the Assam Rifles sought to inspire youth to incorporate fitness into their daily routines while fostering teamwork, confidence and a sense of community.
