Assam Rifles holds ex-servicemen rally

Tripura, Feb 24: In a significant outreach initiative, the Assam Rifles under Spear Corps organized an Ex-Servicemen Rally-cum-Medical Camp at Radhanagar, Tripura, on February 22, 2026. The event brought together 144 participants, including ex-servicemen, widows, and their family members, highlighting the force’s commitment to the welfare of veterans and their dependents.

The rally served as a platform for grievance redressal, enabling ex-servicemen to voice their concerns and seek guidance on various welfare schemes and entitlements. Assam Rifles officials facilitated discussions, providing assistance on pension matters, healthcare, and other support services available to veterans and their families.
In addition, a medical camp was conducted to ensure the health and well-being of attendees. Qualified medical personnel conducted routine health check-ups, distributed essential medicines, and offered health advice, particularly focusing on the needs of elderly veterans and widows.
The event also reinforced community engagement by fostering a sense of camaraderie among participants and strengthening ties between the Assam Rifles and the ex-servicemen community. Officials emphasized that such initiatives are part of a broader effort to ensure veterans and their families are acknowledged, supported, and integrated into ongoing welfare and outreach programmes.
The Assam Rifles reiterated its commitment to continue similar welfare measures across the region, recognizing the sacrifices and contributions of ex-servicemen and their families.
