Peren, Feb 3: : Under the aegis of Spear Corps, Assam Rifles recently handed over a newly constructed Community Hall to the residents of Old Tesen Village in Peren district, Nagaland. The facility was built under the Operation Sadbhavana project, aimed at promoting welfare, development, and community cohesion in remote areas.
The hall is designed to serve as a multipurpose space for the village, supporting community meetings, children’s events, local markets, and other social programs. Officials highlighted that the facility will be particularly beneficial during the rainy season, providing a safe and accessible venue for gatherings and activities.
Assam Rifles personnel emphasized that the initiative reflects the force’s ongoing commitment to enhancing infrastructure and quality of life in remote communities, fostering goodwill, and strengthening bonds between the armed forces and local populations. Villagers expressed gratitude for the facility, noting that it would become a central hub for social interaction, cultural programs, and community development initiatives.
The project is part of Assam Rifles’ larger Operation Sadbhavana efforts, which aim to combine security duties with civic action to support sustainable development and upliftment in the region.
