Agartala, July 1: Reinforcing its commitment to community welfare and inclusive development, the Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Spear Corps, organised a humanitarian outreach programme at Apna Ghar Amblamban Old Age Home and Jawaharlal Nehru Balika Nivas Orphanage in Agartala, extending support to elderly residents and orphaned children.

The initiative was undertaken as part of the force's ongoing civic action programme and also marked 41 years of Assam Rifles' service in Tripura, highlighting its long-standing bond with the people of the state.
During the programme, Assam Rifles personnel distributed a wide range of essential items aimed at improving the quality of life of the residents. The assistance included school books, stationery, food grains, kitchen utensils and Reverse Osmosis (RO) water purification systems to ensure access to safe drinking water.
Officials said the outreach programme was designed not only to provide material assistance but also to foster a sense of care, compassion and social responsibility towards vulnerable sections of society.
Personnel of the Assam Rifles interacted warmly with the elderly residents and children, spending time with them and encouraging them through meaningful conversations. The interaction reflected the force's people-centric approach and its commitment to building trust with local communities beyond its security responsibilities.
The management of both institutions expressed gratitude to the Assam Rifles for the timely support and appreciated the force's continued efforts to contribute to the welfare of underprivileged and vulnerable groups.
