Assam Rifles extends I-Day greetings

Shillong, Aug 15: Director General Assam Rifles Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, along with all ranks of the Assam Rifles, extended heartfelt greetings to the people on the occasion of the 80th Independence Day.

In an Independence Day message, Lt Gen Lakhera conveyed warm wishes to citizens and members of the Assam Rifles fraternity, reaffirming the force's commitment to the ideals that define the nation.
The message highlighted the enduring symbolism of the Tricolour, describing it as a representation of India's courage, unity and unwavering national spirit.
Lt Gen Lakhera paid tribute to the sacrifices of the freedom fighters whose courage and determination secured India's Independence and emphasised the importance of preserving the values for which generations fought.
The Assam Rifles, one of India's oldest paramilitary forces, also reaffirmed its commitment to serving the nation with dedication and maintaining the spirit of unity and patriotism.
The Independence Day message called upon all citizens to draw inspiration from the nation's journey and work collectively towards a stronger, united and prosperous India.
