Kohima, Feb 8 Assam Rifles personnel extended timely humanitarian assistance by donating blood to a five-year-old girl undergoing treatment for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia at Naga Hospital Authority, Kohima. The young patient required an urgent blood and platelet transfusion due to critically low haemoglobin and platelet levels.

Upon receiving the emergency request from the hospital’s blood centre, Assam Rifles personnel immediately volunteered, ensuring the swift availability of life-saving blood. Their prompt and selfless action was instrumental in stabilising the child during a critical phase of her treatment.
Medical authorities at Naga Hospital Authority expressed gratitude for the cooperation and rapid response of the Assam Rifles, highlighting the significance of such initiatives in addressing urgent medical needs in remote areas.
